Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how MacroLattice (the “Add-on”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the MacroLattice add-on for Google Sheets. By installing or using the Add-on, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Contents
1. Overview & the short version
MacroLattice is a diet and nutrition tracker that runs inside your own Google Sheet. It helps you log foods, count calories and macros, and review your weekly progress. It is designed so that the information you enter is kept in your own spreadsheet, in your own Google Drive.
2. Information we access
Through the Google services it relies on, the Add-on accesses:
- Your email address — provided by Google when you authorize the Add-on, used only to identify your account.
- The contents of the spreadsheet you open the Add-on in — the foods, portions, meals, exercises, goals and settings you choose to enter for your own tracking. This data is processed to calculate nutrition values and render your weekly view, and is written back into the same spreadsheet.
The nutrition and health details you log (for example meals, calories, weight or body measurements) are considered personal data under applicable law. They are stored in your own Google Sheet, which is controlled by you and subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
3. How we use information
- To identify your account when the Add-on runs.
- To read and write the diet-tracking data you enter into your spreadsheet.
- To calculate calories, macronutrients and weekly summaries.
- To display the Add-on’s user interface within Google Sheets.
- To provide support and to diagnose problems if you contact us.
We do not use your data to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.
4. Google API scopes
The Add-on requests the following limited Google authorization scopes:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets.currentonly— to read and write the spreadsheet you are using the Add-on with.https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.container.ui— to display the Add-on’s sidebar/menu inside Google Sheets.https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email— to receive your email address in order to identify your account.
These scopes are restricted to what the Add-on needs to function. You can review or revoke these permissions at any time from your Google Account security settings.
5. Data storage & retention
The information you log is stored in your own Google Sheet within your own Google Drive. MacroLattice does not maintain a separate copy of your nutrition or health data on its own servers. If you delete the spreadsheet, or remove the relevant rows, that data is gone.
Limited technical information (such as error messages) may be recorded in Google Apps Script’s Stackdriver logs solely to help diagnose faults. Such logs are retained by Google according to its own policies and are kept no longer than necessary.
6. Sharing & disclosure
We do not share your personal information with third parties except:
- To Google, as the platform hosting the Add-on and your spreadsheet, as described in Google’s own policies.
- If required to comply with a legal obligation, court order, or to protect our rights or the rights of others.
MacroLattice is not a “data broker” and does not combine your data with data from other sources for tracking or profiling.
7. Security
Access to your data follows Google’s secure OAuth 2.0 authorization framework. The Add-on only ever interacts with the spreadsheet you authorize it for, and it does not expose your data to public endpoints. While no system is perfectly secure, we rely on Google’s infrastructure to protect data in transit and at rest.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live — for example if you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California — you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:
- Access — to know what data is processed.
- Rectification — to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure / deletion — to have data removed.
- Withdrawal of consent — by revoking the Add-on’s access in your Google Account.
- Portability — to receive your data, which in this case is the content of your spreadsheet.
Because your nutrition data lives in your own spreadsheet, you can exercise most of these rights directly: review it, edit it, export it, or delete the spreadsheet. To revoke the Add-on’s access entirely, visit your Google Account permissions page. You can also contact us at the address in Section 12.
9. Children’s privacy
The Add-on is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the Add-on, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10. International data transfers
Your data is processed by Google within its infrastructure, which may involve transfers between countries. Google’s handling of such transfers is governed by its own terms and the mechanisms it has in place (for example, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses). See Google’s Privacy Policy for more detail.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
12. Contact
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, you can contact us at contact@macrolattice.com.
